SVETLANA MASGUTOVA received her Ph.D. in Developmental and Educational Psychology since 1988. She worked originally for four years as a university lecturer on psychology in Ufa, and later as a lecturer at Moscow Universities, and as a scientific researcher at the Russian Education Academy. Her doctorate paper on Psychology is based on the works by L. Vigotsky, I. Dubrovina, N. Tolstyckh and I. Bozovich.
She is currently the Director of the International Dr. Svetlana Masgutova Institute for Movement Development and Reflex Integration ™, and of the Svetlana Masgutova Educational Institute of Neuro-Sensory-Motor and Reflex Integration, and also is the author of 85 published works on psychology, education, Neuro-Sensory-Motor Reflex Integration, Educational Kinesiology, Art-Kinesiology®, and movement based development.

Since 1989, Dr. Masgutova has offered leading research on the Neuro-Sensory-Motor Reflex Integration Methods (MNRI), and has studied the influence of primary movements on different aspects of development and learning. The main idea of her work is to use Developmental Movement and Reflex Integration processes to facilitate sensory processing, emotional recovery, motor-physical
and sensory-motor rehabilitation, as well as learning and developmental enrichment.
Dr. Masgutova has received five awards of achievement by Universities in Russia, and in 1996 she was awarded by the Educational Kinesiology Foundation (USA) for outstanding results and development of the Educational Kinesiology Program in Russia. She was also acknowledged through two awards from the parents and specialists in Poland for outstanding results in work with challenged children. Her book Trauma Recovery – You Are a Winner — A New Choice Through Natural Developmental Movements in co–author with Pamela Curlee, received a Regional (Book) Award "Iowa 2007". In 2008 she was featured as the Member of the Year in the USA Madison Who’s Who.
For eighteen years, Dr. Masgutova organized and was the leader in experimental work on Developmental Movement and Personality Development in kindergartens, schools, Universities and Education Academy in Russia.
